Babcock Wanson has developed a new software package called Audisteam to reduce the cost of steam and to develop plant best practices. Audisteam is a software system that incorporates boiler management experience and expertise, and typically makes it possible to reduce operating costs by 15%. Audisteam carries out a thorough analysis of all the boiler house components: boiler and burner, water treatment system and boiler house equipment, as well as the operational level of maintenance.

Babcock Wanson then provides a detailed report of the results with precise figures, and commits itself to offering low cost solutions for specified improvements.

The most significant gains are made on the following points.

* energy savings (fuel, electric power).

* improved operating efficiency (labour, consumables).

* upgrading to comply with regulations.

* safety and environmental standards.
