The latest range of Tempus electronic central heating programmers from heating and control specialist, Invensys Climate Controls, is specifically designed to make it easy for users to match heating patterns with their modern lifestyles. The programmers, for example, allow the heating periods for hot water to be set independently of those for space heating, and they also offer 24-hour, weekday/weekend, or seven-day programming, depending on the model. This flexibility means that, even if their occupancy patterns are complicated, Tempus users can always enjoy comfortable room temperatures and hot water while they are at home, without wasting valuable and expensive energy by running the heating system when the house is empty.

In spite of their exceptional versatility, Tempus programmers are particularly easy to use.

They feature a slide-switch based setting system and a large, easily read liquid crystal display which even shows the next switching times.

No complex setting routines or menu systems are needed, making them an ideal choice for busy users who have no time to fiddle with complicated gadgets.

For maximum convenience and simplicity, Tempus programmers use the 12-hour clock for setting, and provide a straightforward facility for BST/GMT adjustments.

One- or two-hour boost settings and an advance facility are offered by all models in the range, as is an energy-saving holiday shutdown feature.

An integral battery back-up system ensures correct operation after power failures, without any need for resetting.

Suitable for all types of heating installation, Tempus programmers are available in single-channel timeswitch versions for combi boilers and additional heating zones, as well as in two-channel full-programmer versions.

Two models of programmer and timeswitch are available, the first of which can be set for either 24-hour or 5/2 day operation, the other for either 5/2 day or 7 day operation.

All models feature an industry-standard backplate, which is a particular convenience when they are being fitted as upgrades for older programmers.

In many cases, it is not even necessary to alter the wiring.
