Welding systems suit special applications

Orbimatic has recently been involved in the building of several special application welding systems which are based around the company's standard range of industry leading orbital welding equipment. These systems have been used in several different industries and for a complete range of different tube sizes. One system has been built for the welding of high-purity vales for the semiconductor industry, and at the other end of the scale a system has been designed for welding fittings to the side of domestic hot water boilers.

Orbimatic has also been involved in building semi-automatic welding stations for internal diameter welding of convoluted hoses, in which an internal torch carried out two welding operation in one cycle with the torch being indexed to the welding joints automatically.

Another system was built for the welding of fittings to hydraulic tubes where the fittings were loaded into a cassette which was used to automatically load the fitting to the welding head.

The systems then positioned the welding joint centrally under the tungsten electrode before the welding cycle is commenced.
